Campbell bought the post 1955 Broadcaster at Nadines Music in Los Angeles in 1976 for $600 while they were recording Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers first album.
Michael Wayne Campbell is an American guitarist, songwriter, and record producer. Campbell was a member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and co-wrote many of the band’s hits with Petty, including “Refugee”, “Here Comes My Girl”, “You Got Lucky”, and “Runnin’ Down a Dream”.
In the early 1970s, Campbell joined Tom Petty’s band Mudcrutch; which disbanded in 1974.
In 1976, Campbell rejoined Petty to found Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers along with former Mudcrutch member Benmont Tench (keyboards) along with Ron Blair (bass guitar) and Stan Lynch (drums).
Outside the Heartbreakers, Campbell has co-written and performed on songs including “The Boys of Summer” and “Heart of the Matter” with Don Henley.
Campbell collaborated, recorded, and toured with Tom Petty for almost 50 years. His last live performance with the Heartbreakers was on September 25, 2017, at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Tom Petty died unexpectedly about one week later, on October 2.
Campbell has been married to Marcie Weiss since March 24, 1974. They have two daughters, Brie and Kelsey and a son, Darian.

32″ x 40″ stretch canvas print is produced by Giclee printing process and are hand stretched over heavy duty American made white pine. The canvas print is varnished twice after printing. The canvas prints are ready to hang (complete with hanging wire).
